Rooted in my lineage, my mother DJ’ed in her twenties, while my father pursued his craft as a guitarist and singer in The Philippines. From the moment I bought my first decks at 19, I became a storyteller. Just like Keith Haring, who used art to speak to the soul of New York, my DJ journey has been a rhythmic dialogue with my community. New York, thank you for dancing through the good times together.

KINFOLK 90/94 DJ RESIDENT
One of the things I loved most about being part of the Kinfolk DJ Family was the opportunity to meet a diverse ensamble of New York City DJs, each with their unique sounds, and to connect with people who came to enjoy the vibe.
Kinfolk 90 & 94 was a special place for me in Williamsburg, BK. Even before my journey as a DJ, I recognized it as one of the few venues truly embodying the essence of culture and good music. It was a privilege to grace the dance floor and rock the jam spot. Both Kinfolk clubs closed down due to the pandemic. I always find myself reminiscing about the moments filled with happiness and wonder that I experienced there. Thank you for the good times.✌🏽

MEET ME AT LOT 45
The first time I went to Lot 45 was to see Chad Hugo from N.E.R.D. perform his live DJ set, my good friends on the lineup, DJs Mike Nasty and MoreSoupPlease. The line stretched down the block, and inside, the venue was packed to the sliding window wall that separated the dance floor from the couches and the hot food station. It was grunge, the walls are deep red, most definitely Bushwick. I felt a sense of calm in this atmosphere, since that night I knew I wanted to play here. Special thanks to Matt for trusting me to play for Lot 45 through the years.

🍒 CHERRY PIE 🍒
A R&B & Soul monthly series at Lot 45 Bushwick with the beautiful, DJ Milkyshake & Gab Soul
Video by Alexis Ortiz
I started my DJ journey playing vinyl records, focusing mostly on R&B and soul genres in my collection. Cherry Pie was an R&B and soul party. Our mission was to cater to all the lovers out there and provide a heartfelt experience. I DJ according to keys and then BPM. I loved blending two r&b songs together. I really enjoyed finding the synchronicity from melody to beat. Here's a sample of what we played at Cherry Pie.

DEAR SUMMER
A summer series for the Good People of New York
In 2019, I curated a summer series titled "Dear Summer" as a tribute to New York summers.
"Dear Summer, I know you gon' miss me
For we been together like Nike Airs and crisp tees."
—Dear Summer, Memphis Bleek feat. Jay-Z
I recall the first time I listened to this track when I was 16. With school out, fresh pair of Air Force 1s, basketball in the park, and the familiar chime of Mr. Frosty trucks serving as our rendezvous, summers in NYC held significance.
Dear Summer was a monthly summer series, hosted by Kinfolk featuring dance jams from the '90s, 2000s, and current summer hits. Guiding the creative direction, I used the blue and orange hues
(Go Knicks!), celebrating the trailblazers who shaped our culture. As the series concluded, Tidal and I collaborated on a DJ Selector playlist, named "Dear Summer."

KIND REGARDS
My DJ experience reached a conclusion, it was time to reflect on our future, recognizing the aspiring NYC DJs who have dedicated their days and nights to earn a spot on the lineup and their place on the DJ flyer. Everyone deserves a seat at the table.
It’s been a solid run, New York.
Thank you for the good times 💙🧡
